Tottenham given boost as La Liga giants in talks after interest in senior man – reports

Tottenham look set to keep hold of manager Mauricio Pochettino as Barcelona are looking elsewhere for Luis Enrique’s successor, according to a report.
Italian news outfit Premium Sport HD reports that Barca are in secret talks with Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri over a summer switch to the Nou Camp.
Allegri is said to want a three-year deal at Barcelona which would be worth £7.4million-per-year.
Enrique announced that he will leave the club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Tuttomercato originally claimed that Pochettino was set to begin talks with the Catalan club at the beginning of March.
However Spurs fans can now rest easy knowing that the La Liga giants have shifted their focus towards the Italian.
Pochettino has done a brilliant job since taking charge at White Hart Lane in 2014.
He has taken the club from perennial underachievers to possible title candidates in just three years.
The 45-year-old has won 79 of his 152 matches in charge after he was brought to the club following a successful spell at Southampton, following the departure of Tim Sherwood.
Spurs are currently second in the Premier League, however they are 10 points behind leaders Chelsea.
Pochettino has a great chance of winning his first silverware with the north London club as they are currently one of the last four teams in this season’s FA Cup.

Forget losing Dele Alli, Harry Kane or Christian Eriksen – the one man Tottenham simply cannot cope without is Pochettino. The Argentine has revolutionised the club since he moved to White Hart Lane from Southampton three years ago and has turned them into one of England’s most feared clubs. Barca have made a habit in the past few years of promoting from within or extensively scouting a widely unknown manager, however their pursuit of Allegri is the polar opposite of what they’re used to. The Catalan club are desperate to break clear of the two Madrid sides that have got the better of them on numerous times in the past few seasons.
