Danny Rose has been ruled out of Tottenham’s Premier League clash with Man City on Saturday.

The injury is said to be a short-term calf problem, but will mean that Ben Davies is likely to start against the Champions elect.

The news was reported on Alasdair Gold’s Twitter page ahead of Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-match press conference on Thursday lunchtime.

Gold also reported that Kyle Walker-Peters would miss the game through hamstring and that Harry Winks was in Qatar undergoing rehabilitation.

Football Insider verdict:

We can’t be sure but we’d have bet money on Ben Davies starting against Man City anyway, so this won’t be too big a blow for Tottenham. It’s been a big turn around for Davies this season as he’s established himself as the Tottenham number one left back under Pochettino. The problem with Rose sounds like a short-term one anyway and he should only miss the Man City game. We can file this one under enforced rotation.
