Tottenham insider claims ‘progress made’ as Alli and 2 teammates tipped to leave this week
Tottenham are “making progress” in the transfer market ahead of a busy last week of the window.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
Dele Alli, Tanguy Ndombele and Giovanni Lo Celso were all omitted from the matchday squad for Sunday’s (23 January) loss to Chelsea.
Wenham insists the decision to keep the trio out of the squad shows progress is being made on transfers.
This comes as Football Insider revealed on Monday (24 January) how Antonio Conte is putting “huge pressure” on Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board to complete four new signings in the last week of the window.
It is expected to coincide with a raft of outgoings, including some big names.
“The lineup against Chelsea told me progress is being made,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“If it isn’t being made, Conte has made it very clear who he thinks he can rely on and who the club need to move on.
“I was delighted that Lo Celso was overlooked in favour of Harvey White.
“That’s clear as day, Conte doesn’t want him. I personally feel Conte is doing everything he can to move players on.
“It’s now a big week for the club in terms of bringing players in but moving players on is so important.
“The fact that all three of Ndombele, Alli and Lo Celso weren’t in the squad tells me they are available and will probably leave.”

A source with knowledge of Alli’s situation told Football Insider on Saturday (22 January) that the player is “very keen” to move to St. James’ Park to reignite his career.
It is understood that Newcastle have opened preliminary talks with Spurs over a deal for the 37-times England international.
In other news, Newcastle United have been tipped to ‘break the bank and sign four stars next week after news.
