Tottenham insider: Paratici has January deals lined up and awaiting Conte 'sign-off'

Antonio Conte will have the “sign-off” on Tottenham January deals already lined up by recruitment chief Fabio Paratici.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Conte, 52, was confirmed as the new Tottenham boss on Tuesday and is assessing the squad after overseeing his first training sessions in the last two days.

The futures of several players are up in the air with a Spurs source telling this site on 28 September that the club remain determined to sell Dele Alli.

Football Insider also revealed on 29 July that Harry Winks was in talks to leave Spurs for a Premier League rival in the summer.

One 2022 arrival already in the bag is Pape Sarr, who joined at the end of August before being loaned out for the season to Metz.

Wenham hasn’t ruled out an overhaul in January and claimed it won’t take Conte long to make his mind up over some players.

“I get the impression this is how Fabio Paratici works,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Tottenham will have targets, a long list. They will be presented to the manager and it will be like, do you want A, B, or C?

“The club will be happy to go for those players and they might know they can do a deal but they need the manager’s sign-off on the right player.

“As weird as it sounds, I don’t think the targets will change based on who the new manager is.

“Players like Romero are definitely Paratici signings. As is Pape Sarr, who will join us next summer.

“In terms of an overhaul, we will have to see. They will already be working on that.”

Conte has to assess the squad but I’m sure he will make his mind up on some players very quickly.”

Tottenham have under-performed this season and lie ninth in the Premier League after 10 games.

In other news, an insider has tipped Tottenham to pull off an “amazing” Christian Eriksen transfer in January.
