Tottenham: Serhou Guirassy stats prove perfect Dominic Solanke upgrade as Stefan Borson reveals summer ‘war chest’
Tottenham Hotspur have a real chance to upgrade their frontline in the summer amid their recent links with Borussia Dortmund’s Serhou Guirassy.
The 30-year-old striker could help solve Spurs’ damning lack of threat up top, which has plagued their current campaign.
So far this season, Richarlison is the only player to have scored five goals or more, with the Brazilian netting nine times to date.
Much of this is down to injuries, with stars such as Dominic Solanke spending long periods on the sidelines.
However, if they are able to get a deal over the line, everything indicates that Guirassy would be a stunning upgrade for Tottenham.

According to BILD on 17 March, Tottenham want to sign Guirassy in the summer transfer window.
The 30-year-old striker has been observed by Spurs’ officials in the last five matches, and the club has already contacted the player’s management.

So far this season, the attacker has netted 17 goals in all competitions, including four in the Champions League.
His stats in the Bundesliga are also particularly impressive, with Guirassy averaging 0.60 goals, 3.10 shots, 0.14 expected assists, and 55.1 per cent aerial duels won per 90 minutes, according to Fotmob on 18 March.
In comparison, Solanke’s stats in the Premier League do not get close to matching this at 0.39 goals, 1.57 shots, 0.02 expected assists and 28.6 per cent aerial duels won per game.
Therefore, it is clear that as long as Guirassy can replicate his stats in England, he would be a massive upgrade.
Are Tottenham set to have a big budget in the summer transfer window?
Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively revealed to Football Insider that Tottenham are going to have a “war chest” in the summer transfer window.
Much of this is down to their success in the Champions League, which has seen them reach the round of 16 in the competition after finishing in the top eight during the league phase.
While the club are all but certain to go out of the competition after going into the second leg 5-2 down against Atletico Madrid, they have already brought in a substantial fee.
However, it remains to be seen if they are able to spend heavily in the summer if they are relegated to the Championship.
