Kieran Maguire drops intriguing Levy claim that sums up Tottenham-Kane troubles
Daniel Levy is a far more accomplished negotiator than “naive” Tottenham superstar Harry Kane and his representatives.
So says finance guru Kieran Maguire, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the reported ‘gentleman’s agreement’ between the pair.
BBC Sport reported in July that the 28-year-old striker believed he had an unofficial arrangement with Levy to allow him to leave this summer.
That came after Football Insider first broke news back in April that Kane had told friends he was desperate to quit the club as soon as possible.
And in the latest news, Spurs boss Nuno Espirito Santo told Sky Sports on 5th August that he is yet to speak to the England skipper about his future.
Kane, who still has three years remaining on his contract, is attracting intense interest from Man City.

Maguire claims that the England skipper was foolish to believe that Levy would not renege on their supposed gentleman’s agreement.
“Daniel Levy is a very confident and successful negotiator,” he told Football Insider correspondent Adam Williams.
“I wouldn’t have a gentleman’s agreement with him. I think Harry Kane or his representatives may have been a bit naive if he thought he had one.
“Kane is so important to them and Levy just isn’t going to let go easily, if at all. Sometimes you need a bad guy working on your behalf.“
Kane was the Premier League’s top goalscorer and creator last term.
He notched 23 goals and 14 assists in 35 league appearances.
