Tottenham are reportedly interested in Everton playmaker Ross Barkley, but Spurs fans on Twitter have mixed views on the transfer.
The Evening Standard has claimed that the north London club have made a “tentative enquiry” about the 23-year-old.
It is claimed that £35 million would need to be offered by the north London club, but that a January transfer would be unlikely for such a senior player.
Barkley’s contract on Merseyside runs out at the end of next season, and it is fair to say some Spurs supporters would love him at their club.
The England international, who burst onto the scene as a teenager, is yet to produce the consistent and high quality performances fans have been waiting for.
But some of the White Hart Lane faithful feel Mauricio Pochettino could get the best out of the boyhood Toffees fan, as he has proven with attacking midfielder Dele Alli last season.
However, other fans feel that if he’s not good enough for a consistent place in the Everton side, he’s not good enough for Spurs.
One fan said he’d prefer Wolfsburg’s Julian Draxler over Barkley, especially as the German’s transfer fee could potentially be a lot less.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

THFCreview he's a fantastic player who needs someone to believe in him. I'd rather have Barkley pushing Eriksen than Sissoko anyway #Totten…

Draxler for £30mill or Barkley for £35mill, absolute no brainer. Barkley not good enough #thfc

Barkley has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season for Ronald Koeman’s side, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
He has been in and out of the team this season, but did play the full match as the Toffees defeated Arsenal 2-1 on Tuesday night.
In other Tottenham transfer news, Spurs may sanction this defender deal in January.
