Tottenham transfer boost: 21-year-old snubs PSG contract talks to open door to exit - reports

Tottenham are on red alert after midfielder Adrien Rabiot told his club Paris Saint-Germain that he does not want to sign a new deal, according to reports.
French publication Le Parisien reported on Thursday that the midfielder does not want to sign a new deal until after the summer transfer window.
It is said that Rabiot wants to see what improvements are made to the PSG squad before committing to a contract extension.
The report claims that the Premier League is Rabiot’s preferred destination, as his stock continues to rise as one of the best young midfielders in European football.

Rabiot currently has just over two years remaining on his current deal with Unai Emery’s side, fighting for a place in the side with Marco Veratti, Javier Pastore, Blaise Matuidi and Grzegorz Krychowiak.
Making 30 league and cup appearances this season, PSG’s number 25 is still viewed as an important member of the French champions, with the report also claiming he is viewed as a future captain of the side.
However, Rabiot may see his future somewhere else and that could tempt Tottenham into making a bid.
Football Insider verdict:
Rabiot would become Spurs marquee signing should he move to north London in the summer. Manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to be in the market for a new central midfielder, after selling Ryan Mason and Tom Carroll in the January transfer window without replacing them. With a Champions League campaign on the horizon next season, Rabiot’s experience in the competition could be crucial in seeing Spurs having a better go of it during 2017-18. Spurs will also be fighting on four different fronts next season, and bringing in depth in the middle of the park is crucial with only three senior midfielders able to play in central midfield in Harry Winks, Moussa Dembele and Victor Wanyama. Pochettino must open his cheque book and pay whatever PSG want.
