Van Bronckhorst hit with Rangers 'reality check' after £24m reveal - pundit
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been with a “reality check” at Rangers, according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England forward delivered his verdict after the new Ibrox boss’ transfer budget was revealed.
A Rangers source told Football Insider (November 18) Van Bronckhorst will have to sell players before adding to his squad in January.
It comes after the Gers announced a loss of £23.5million for last season in their recently-published accounts.
The likes of Ryan Kent, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo, Nathan Patterson, Alfredo Morelos and Connor Goldson have all caught the eye of clubs down in England.
But Agbonlahor has warned it will not be easy to complete deals during the winter window.

He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “The new manager will want to but it’s not as easy for clubs in Scotland.
“They have not got the money to be chopping and changing like that.
“As much as he will want to bring in players he might get a reality check when he realises how much money there is to spend at Rangers.
“They could sell and bring in other players. But it’s not as easy to sell players just like that.
“Players might not want to go to the clubs that come in for them. It’s not as easy as that.”
After the disappointing League Cup semi-final defeat, Van Bronckhorst marked his first game officially in charge of Rangers with a 2-0 win over Sparta Prague in the Europa League.
His first game in the Scottish Premiership comes on Sunday as they travel to Livingston.
