International has been huge let down since highly-anticipated Rangers move
Rangers fans were excited when the Ibrox giants moved to sign Russell Martin in the January transfer window – but the Scotland international has been a disappointment since his arrival in Glasgow during the winter break.
Fans were hoping Martin would bring some composure to a defence which has struggled at times this season but the 29-times capped international hasn’t been able to make any difference since coming into the side.
With Martin only being on loan, a string of quality performances for the Gers could have seen him earn a permanent transfer to the Light Blues but it doesn’t seem likely that the 32-year-old will be at Ibrox next season.
Martin has made 10 appearances for the Gers but has given away a number of penalties and has come in for criticism from fans for his performances – particularly alongside Bruno Alves.
The on-loan Norwich defender hasn’t exactly been a disaster but for all his experience, there will be few who will think the 32-year-old has shown anything which merits a long-term deal.

Gers director of football Mark Allen is almost certain to be one of the busiest men in football this summer with the Light Blues likely to undergo a huge rebuild of the squad in the summer but Allen will do well to decide against a move to bring Martin to Ibrox permanently.
