With the news that Jonathan Kodjia has now returned to full training with the first-team following his long lay-off with a recurrent ankle injury, Steve Bruce will likely want to ease one of his star players back into the set-up.
However, now that their promotion push is hanging in the balance following a string of iffy results which was punctuated by a defeat to Bolton last time out, they have dropped from second in the table down to fourth.
The Claret and Blues are in need of a fresh impetus in the side and Kodjia can be the man to provide exactly that, having been snapped back in contact training by Villa’s Twitter account in what will be a huge boost for the club.

With Scott Hogan failing to net in the Championship since the start of February, and struggling to prove his effectiveness, the former Brentford forward should be the one to make way for Kodjia in the side, despite the eight goals he has totalled so far this campaign.
The club’s top scorer last season will be like a new signing in the starting XI and will be desperate to give his teammates a final push in Villa’s bid for promotion – especially after missing so much action.
Usually lethal in front of goal, if he can replicate anything like the sort of form which saw him as the club’s leading marksman last year, the Birmingham club could well be on the brink of the English top-flight.
