We need to have a serious conversation about Savinho ahead of the January transfer window
I have personally been baffled by Savinho and his recent revival under Pep Guardiola, and he only continues to prove me wrong.
Man City fans have been disappointed by Savinho since the start of the 2025-26 campaign, with the 21-year-old yet to score in the Premier League this season.
Everyone at the Etihad Stadium is aware of just how close the player came to leaving during the summer, with Tottenham seriously interested, but Guardiola will now be thanking his lucky stars that he stayed.
Instead, Tottenham signed Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig to revamp their final third, and Savinho appears to have done exactly the same for the Citizens back in Manchester in recent weeks.
Savinho has undergone a needed revival at Man City
Despite his revival, Savinho continues to be linked with a Man City exit, with a squad rebuild potentially possible next month when the transfer window swings open.
This begs the question whether Man City should be cashing in on the player, who has only really just come into form, or if we keep him around for the foreseeable future while he grows and develops.
There is absolutely no doubt that he holds the potential to become one of the best wingers in the Premier League. Right now, Guardiola still appears to be rebuilding.

However, the manager still needs proven talents in the squad to help wade through the current rebuilding process, which is why Bernardo Silva is now the captain of the team.
Pep Guardiola’s tactics could be the defining factor in January
Guardiola absolutely loves an out-and-out winger, proven by the likes of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez, but he currently only has one dependable one in Jeremy Doku.
The Catalan appears to have gone in a different direction since the summer, bringing in creative magicians in Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki, and a lot of the chances come from attacking midfield.
Obviously, having wingers available makes it much easier to adapt tactics to individual games and opponents, but at this stage, Savinho is likely the most expensive he has been since we signed him.
It is certainly a discussion which needs to be had ahead of next month, and the likelihood is that he goes absolutely nowhere. But those inside the Etihad must at least be considering cashing in based on his rollercoaster form.
