Middlesbrough’s lightning-quick winger Adama Traore is reported to be attracting interest from Premier League side West Ham United, as the Hammers plan a swoop on the forward during the transfer window, according to a report.
The Northern Echo believes David Moyes is eyeing up the midfielder – a former Barcelona youth product – as a replacement for the injured Michail Antonio, who is struggling with a groin injury.
The attacker has set the pulses racing on Teeside with moments of brilliance after his move from Aston Villa in 2016.
Chelsea were thought to have made enquiries as to the Spaniard’s availability but were dissuaded by the £15m valuation.
Football Insider verdict:
If the Irons can get the price right, then this is a signing that could come to fruition. There has been growing speculation that Andy Carroll could quit the club if he is not allowed to move to Stamford Bridge, and should that materialise it could kick-off a whole host of transfer activity. Traore has made 18 appearances in all this season and despite failing to register a goal, the winger has four assists to his name and is highly thought of on Teeside. He also has bags of potential and provided he can improve on his final ball and work on his defensive side of the game, he would be an asset at the London Stadium.
