West Ham should complete last-gasp signings, they now have ‘amazing’ chance to stay up
West Ham have given themselves a chance of staying up this season after winning back-to-back games in the Premier League.
West Ham’s 3-1 victory over Sunderland last weekend followed their dramatic 2-1 win over Tottenham the previous week.
The prospect of relegation is unthinkable for the Hammers, having spent the past 14 years in the top flight.
It has been revealed West Ham could lose more than £60million in revenue if they are relegated this season.
However, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have a chance to strengthen further before the transfer window closes on Monday (2 February).

West Ham ‘definitely’ need to agree signings after Lucas Paqueta exit
Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider West Ham should be looking to sign more players before the transfer deadline.
West Ham have sold Lucas Paqueta to Flamengo in a deal worth around £36m, providing their budget with a boost.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Borson said: “I would sign players if I was them. Having sold Paqueta, I definitely would be buying or certainly loaning.
“They’ve got to stay in the Premier League and the two wins have given them an amazing chance to get back in the mix and maybe pull others in. I mean, that was the big issue if we looked at it just two or three weeks ago.

“The big issue they had was there just wasn’t that many teams that they could finish above. Nottingham Forest obviously, but Leeds were starting to pull away. It’ll be interesting to see over the next couple of weeks.”
West Ham head to Chelsea on Saturday (31 January), where they will be looking to close the five-point gap on fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest.
West Ham told how many points they may need to avoid relegation
Borson insisted West Ham could need 40 points to stay up this season, with Nuno’s side currently on 20 points after 23 games.
“We might be in a situation this season where you really do need the 40 points,” said Borson.
“Historically, we’ve always talked about 40 points, but actually in reality, it’s always been much lower like 36 or 37. It’s starting to look like you might need 40. If you do need 40, then who does that bring into the mix for the last few games?

“Maybe it’s even higher than 40. I mean, it’s hard to see how many of the teams won’t get to 40 points. But for West Ham, obviously they’ve got a tricky game tomorrow away at Chelsea. But then they’ve got Burnley away. That’s a great chance for them to get those points.
“They’ve got Bournemouth at home coming up, so they’ve got winnable games. I don’t know, I think it’s going to be very interesting. But if I was in West Ham’s situation, I’d definitely be trying to strengthen between now and the close of the window.”
It is believed West Ham’s board are keen to continue spending after signing Taty Castellanos, Pablo Felipe and Adama Traore this month.
