Everton fans have had a mixed reaction on Twitter regarding Ross Barkley’s contract situation at the club.
Speaking ahead of their Friday night Premier League match against Watford, as quoted by Sky Sports, Everton boss Ronald Koeman has confirmed that the 23-year-old has a week to decide whether he’s staying at the Merseyside club.

The England international only has one more year remaining on his contract but he is still yet to commit his immediate future to the Toffees.
Since joining Everton at the start of the season, Koeman had repeatedly challenged Barkley to improve on his game as he wants the young Liverpudlian to reach his full potential.
It’s been a very inconsistent season from Barkley this season but he has still made a total of 34 Premier League appearances, scoring four goals and providing eight assists in the process.
At such a young age, Barkley still has a great deal to offer to the game but it appears that he’s undecided whether to continue his journey at Goodison Park or move on.
The majority of Everton fans have expressed that they would be extremely disappointed to see Barkley leave the club, whereas others believe it’s the perfect time to cash in one of the best assets.
Here is what they’ve had to say on Twitter:

Think I'll be more shocked if @RBarkley20 goes with the future we have in store now, than when Rooney left.

Who is Ross Barkley to hold us to ransom? Seriously 😂 There's not another manager I'd want dealing with this situation than Koeman.

If he wasn't a local lad & a blue everyone would have been screaming for him to be sold 18 months ago. He'll never fulfill his potential.
