Why Newcastle must swoop for reportedly available 25-year-old attacker

By Derek Smithson

Newcastle must try and complete a deal for Derby ace Tom Ince in the summer to help bolster their squad.

The Magpies are preparing for their return to the Premier League and manager Rafael Benitez needs a few additions in the attacking areas.

The Daily Mirror reported in May that Derby are prepared to sell Ince this summer and would are likely to accept a £10million-plus offer.

It is understood that Newcastle were interested in the 25-year-old’s signature in January and could reignite their interest, using defender Grant Hanley as makeweight in the deal.

Benitez’s side must now make an offer for the Englishman and act quickly to secure his signature.

Ince has proven himself to be a superb player in the Championship during recent years and is now ready to make the permanent step up into the top flight.

The right winger starred last campaign during Derby’s ninth-placed league finish, scoring 15 goals and supplying eight assists in 50 appearances across all competitions.

He is blessed with great pace and trickery, while also having a real eye for goal.

Newcastle are going to need goals from all over the park if they are to avoid relegation next year and having strong wide men will be important.

In other Newcastle transfer news, they are eyeing a move for Chelsea’s goalscoring midfielder.
