A Tottenham front three of Gareth Bale, Harry Kane and Heung Min-Son would be a world-class attacking line, according to Noel Whelan.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Coventry and Leeds forward delivered his verdict as Bale arrived in North London on Friday.
This site revealed that Spurs are closing in on signing the Welshman on loan and are confident of adding his Real Madrid teammate Sergio Reguilon for a fee of £28million including add-ons.
The club are also in the market for a new striker to act as back-up to Harry Kane after Eintracht Frankfurt forward Bas Dost rejected a move to Tottenham.
The Dutch international was not keen on playing second fiddle to the England captain who Whelan labelled as the “best all-round centre-forward in Europe”.
And now with Son and Bale potentially lining up either side of him, Whelan has been left in awe of Spurs.
He told Football Insider: “On their day it’ll be fantastic. We know the qualities that every single of those players possesses.
“In my opinion, Harry Kane is the best all-round centre forward in Europe, for me, he’s fantastic.
“Son on his day we know can be an absolutely world-class player.
“Gareth Bale just adding to that quality and set pieces could really be a shrewd signing by Jose Mourinho.
“I’m glad it’s going to get done. He’s been coming back to Tottenham for five years now!”
Bale, 31, scored 56 goals and contributed 58 assists in 201 games for Spurs in his first spell at the club.
Since moving to Real Madrid in 2013, the Welsh international has played 251 times for the Spanish giants and has won the Champions League four times.
In other Tottenham news, a top pundit has claimed Ryan Sessegnon is facing Spurs exit after two Friday sightings.
