Celtic are favourites to sign West Brom and Republic of Ireland winger James McClean in the January transfer window, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

SkyBet have opened the market on McClean, 28, to leave the Hawthorns before the end of next month and have him priced at 9/4 to sign for Celtic.

McClean has recently revealed that he would “give anything” to play for the Bhoys before the end of his career, something which the majority of the Parkhead faithful would love to see happen.

The Telegraph has recently reported that West Brom may consider offloading McClean in January in a bid to try and strike a deal with Burnley to sign defender Ben Mee.

It was understood that the Clarets had a bid worth £8million turned down by the Baggies in the summer, but since then the Republic of Ireland international, who makes no secret of his support for Celtic, has struggled to get much game time in the West Midlands.

The Derry-born winger has made 17 appearances across all competitions for Albion this season but out of those he has only managed to start four times in the Premier League.
