'Bang on' – Leeds fans react as BBC pundit says 'lazy' duo should never play for club again
Noel Whelan had some savage criticism for two Leeds players after their latest defeat in the Championship.
Leeds went down 1-0 to Aston Villa on Friday night – a result that was better than a lot of people had expected – but Whelan was disgusted by what he saw from two Leeds players, who didn’t seem to care or want to play.
Talking on BBC Radio Leeds, Whelan saved most of his anger for substitutes Jay-Roy Grot and Pierre-Michel Lasogga, who he called, “Diabolical, lazy, unprofessional.”
“And that starts with the warm-up, that’s unacceptable, I don’t want to see that.
“I don’t want the young lads seeing that, I wouldn’t put them on the bench again, they shouldn’t play for Leeds again in my opinion. I’d give it to the young lads with passion and desire.”
Leeds fans wholeheartedly agree with Whelan and one said that his passion is what is needed at Elland Road.

Another said that he could understand Lasogga, who was probably leaving at the end of the season, but was perplexed by youngster Grot who is at the start of his career.
Here are the best reactions from Leeds fans to Whelan’s explosive comments:
You can see the passion and anger in @NoelDavidWhelan . Something that needs implementing into this Leeds side. We have no leaders out there. Need The likes of Noel around the first team to drive into the players what playing for #lufc means .

On the money, brutal but 100% honest and accurate assessment- we're shite but minimum asked for is effort and those 2 were an absolute disgrace to the shirt, it really hurts, and I've seen some shite in my time

Well said Noel say it how it is mate, about time someone does. Some of these are just an embarrassment to the shirt and club we supporters love!

What is Grot doing? Think we can all see that maybe Lasogga's career path is now determined, but surely Grot is at the start of his career. Why is he not putting the effort in? Surely it's still all to play for, for him? I just don't get it.

Had to laugh when commentator said Grot is 6foot3 but jumps 5foot3… ????????????

As ever brutally honest and spot on. Comments on some senior players said it all and not sure if PH's position tenable with moral so low. Anything but a win over Barnsley could spell end for PH

absolutely bang on Noel..!!

Well said @NoelDavidWhelan, nail on the head ????
Seeing Lasogga 'warming up' at half time in Fulham game by playing in goal sums him up. Manager is clearly a downgrade on TC. Just dire at the moment…— LUFC_ALEX (@Alexsmif) April 14, 2018
Well said noel… i questioned all these £ shop foreigners before the season even started.. like the owner who is just in it for the money!! These lot dont know what its like to be leeds!!! Play the kids and keep it ???????????????????????? like all our league champion teams were!!!

Spot on as usual Noel.We seem to say it every season but we really do need a big clear out and some British championship players. Also in my opinion I don't believe Hecklinbottom is the right man to take the club forward next season.
