Newcastle have finally had some good news with reports from Italy suggesting that they have had a £12.8million bid (€14million) for Dennis Praet accepted by Sampdoria.
Enzo Lampard, a journalist with Italian outlet Calciomercato, made the claim on his official Twitter account on Monday afternoon.
Dennis Praet può andare al Newcastle, la Sampdoria ha accettato l'offerta di 14M per il cartellino del belga #Calciomercato

The tweet translates as: “Dennis Praet can go to Newcastle as Sampdoria accept a 14m offer for the Belgian player.”
This follows a report in Il Secolo XIX that said manager Rafa Benitez was keen on bringing the midfielder to St James’ Park.
The Chronicle also revealed that Benitez had sent scouts to watch the player in action on Sunday.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined Sampdoria from Belgian club Anderlecht last summer for £9million.
He has since made 36 appearances for the Italian top-flight club, scoring one goal and adding one assist.
He was more prolific at Anderlecht where he scored 27 goals and added 39 assists in 182 appearances.
He has also played 17 times for the talented Belgium Under-21 team, scoring twice.
Praet has experience at the top level, with 18 Champions League appearances for Anderlecht.
Football Insider verdict:
It hasn’t been a great start to the new Premier League campaign for Newcastle with two straight defeats, one to Tottenham and the other, more worryingly, to newly-promoted Huddersfield. They’ve not made many new additions to the squad and they lost the critical Jonjo Shelvey for three games after he was sent off for a stamp in the opening game. Benitez has looked weary and has hinted that claims that were made by the hierarchy in terms of funds being made available haven’t been honoured. A move for someone like Praet, who has top-flight and European experience, and is young enough to improve further, would be a real boost for Newcastle. There’s not long left in the window though, and fans will believe it when it happens. Their enthusiasm has been hit by a big dose of Mike Ashley reality.
