Alex Bruce has been left head over heels as Liverpool plot to tie Sadio Mane down to a new and improved contract deal.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, insists the Reds forward is a “manager’s dream” with his talent and work rate out on the pitch.
Bruce admits it is no surprise the Premier League leaders are looking to keep his suitors at bay, claiming he is among a rare breed who has both excellent quality and a top-class work ethic.
Bruce told Football Insider: “He’s been an absolute revelation there, he’s arguably one of their biggest assets, I for one think he’s a fabulous player.
“I can fully understand why Liverpool are looking to tie him up for the rest of his career because he’s a top, top player.
“He’s got everything – his work rate, his pace, his desire, his consistency, I don’t think I’ve ever seen him have a bad game. He’s one of them where he’s a threat in every game he plays in, when he gets the ball you think something’s going to happen.
“He does his shift for the team as well, he’s just one of those manager’s dream and I’m sure Jurgen Klopp loves him.”
Mane has 77 goals in 161 appearances for Liverpool to date, with a further 34 assists under his belt.
This season has seen him net 18 goals and set up a further 12 across all competitions.
In other Liverpool news, it can be REVEALED that deal has been done for Lallana’s replacement.
