Nottingham Forest defender Eric Lichaj is undergoing a medical at Championship rivals Hull City, Football Insider sources understands.
Hull have been chasing USA international Lichaj all summer and they have now finally agreed a fee with Forest for the defender’s services.
Lichaj has been granted permission to undergo a medical at Hull and hold talks with the club as he looks to finalise the move within the next 24 hours.
Forest are willing to let Lichaj move on as he is enterting the final year of his contract at the City Ground and does not figure in Aitor Karanka’s long-term plans going forward.
Lichaj has made 190 appearances for Forest, since joining the club on a free transfer from Aston Villa in the summer of 2013 and was a big fans’ favourite at the club.
Hull finished in 18th spot in the Championship last season and Lichaj’s signing will come as a major boost to Tigers boss Nigel Adkins having seen a number of players depart the KCOM stadium already this summer.
