Newcastle fans are all saying same thing about Chris Wood’s stunning form

Newcastle United supporters all wish they still had Chris Wood after he found the back of the net again during Nottingham Forest’s 3-1 win against Leicester City on Friday (25 October).

The _-year-old scored a second-half brace to help his team win three points, which took his total for the season up to seven goals.

Wood is currently the second top goalscorer in the Premier League, with Erling Haaland being the only player who has managed to find the back of the net more times.

Since 23 December 2023, Haaland and Cole Palmer have been the only players in the division to top his 16 goals as the striker continues to enjoy a purple patch for Forest.

It has left Newcastle fans feeling envious of their former striker considering the issues Eddie Howe is dealing with regarding that area of the pitch.

Callum Wilson has yet to kick a ball this season due to a back issue, while Alexander Isak has only scored once in his seven appearances throughout the campaign.

Football Insider revealed that a potential Wilson sale in the upcoming January transfer window could open the door for the club to sign a new striker to bolster Howe’s options.

Newcastle United fans would welcome Chris Wood back to the club

Wood made 39 appearances for Newcastle during his spell at St James’ Park, but he only managed to score five goals in what turned out to be a difficult spell.

The Forest striker is averaging 0.87 goals per 90 minutes and a 37% goal conversion rate, which are qualities that the Toon Army would welcome today.
