Newcastle fans stunned by Anthony Elanga news – ‘what a signing’
Newcastle fans have urged the club to make a move for Anthony Elanga following a fresh update on their search for a new winger.
Eddie Howe is on the lookout for a right-sided winger ahead of next season, with several names linked to St James’ Park as they look for a player to compete with Jacob Murphy.
But one potential signing now looks unlikely, as reports suggest Bryan Mbeumo has prioritised a move to Manchester United.
Football Insider revealed last month that Newcastle were prepared to meet Brentford’s asking price for Mbeumo. However, the final decision was always in the player’s hands, and it now appears he has chosen the Red Devils.
In response, the Magpies seem to be acting quickly to line up an alternative, with Elanga emerging as a key name being discussed, with fans reacting positively.

Newcastle reignite Anthony Elanga interest amid £50m valuation
According to Craig Hope of the Daily Mail, Newcastle have made an “enquiry” over Nottingham Forest winger Elanga.
Hope added that Forest are expected to “demand a sizeable fee” for the Sweden international, and that Howe is a “big admirer” of the player. Newcastle were interested in Elanga last summer, but it would now take around £50 million to secure his signature.
Elanga has enjoyed a standout season at Nottingham Forest, registering 18 goal contributions in all competitions, including 11 assists in the Premier League.
Beyond his productivity, the 23-year-old has shown his versatility by featuring not just on the right wing, but also on the left and occasionally as a striker. His form has even surprised some Man United supporters, who called for the club to bring Elanga back to Old Trafford earlier in the season.

Newcastle fans back move for Anthony Elanga after Bryan Mbeumo snub
Following Forest’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, Football Insider revealed on 16 May that Nottingham Forest may be forced to sell key players due to financial pressures.
A big-money sale for Elanga could help balance the books, especially as Newcastle continue their search for a right-sided winger.
Their interest in Elanga isn’t new. Football Insider reported in September that Newcastle were expected to return with another approach for Elanga, and it now appears that moment has arrived.
Fans have already shown their support for the move. One wrote: “Would be a fantastic signing by NUFC… would no doubt improve massively under Howe.” Another added: “Would be a great addition! Hope we get him.”
