Odds slashed: Newcastle leapfrog West Ham to become new favourites to sign Arsenal 25-year-old

Newcastle are the new favourites to sign Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the Tyneside club at 5/2 on Wednesday afternoon to secure the signature of the 25-year-old before the summer transfer window shuts.
The newly-promoted Premier League side are currently ahead of a host of English teams who are also credited with an interest in signing the midfielder this summer with West Ham United placed at 5/1, Aston Villa at 8/1 and West Bromwich Albion at 16/1.
The Magpies’ odds to sign the Arsenal enforcer have been significantly slashed as Sky Bet placed them at 10/1 behind West Ham earlier on this summer.
There is a possibility that a potential deal could happen as Newcastle boss Rafa Benitez does not appear to have finished in the transfer window as the Telegraph recently reported that he is looking to bring in four more players to St James’ Park.

Wilshere spent last season on loan to Premier League side Bournemouth last season to get more minutes under his belt and he certainly impressed with his performances.
The England international featured in 29 matches in all competitions before suffering an injury in April which ruled him out of the final two months of the season.
The midfielder made his return to action playing more than an hour for the Arsenal Under-23 side on Monday evening.
In other Newcastle news, the Magpies have entered talks over this defender.
