Newcastle fans have poured onto Twitter to give support for first-team star Ayoze Perez, after he sent an emotional message to them.
The Newcastle striker revealed that he had played the full 90 minutes in the 3-0 win against Southampton after his grandam died three days prior.
He sent the message on Monday morning, saying it had been a “hard week” and fans were blown away by his commitment and dedication.

Perez has only missed two games for Newcastle in the Premier League this season and played a pivotal part in the 3-0 against Southampton on Saturday that lifted his club to five points above the relegation zone.
He ended the message to fans with a battling, “We keep fighting”, and the Newcastle fans responded in kind on Twitter.
