Pundit backs El Ghazi to join top club after 'surprise' Aston Villa transfer update
Paul Robinson has insisted Anwar El Ghazi will “get a move to a good club” after being given the green light to leave Aston Villa.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England goalkeeper admitted he was “very surprised” the Villans are willing to let the 26-year-old go.
As revealed by Football Insider on Wednesday (11th August), Villa will accept a £17million bid for El Ghazi amid interest from Roma.
This site detailed on August 10th the Midlands giants have told both El Ghazi and Wesley Moraes they can leave this summer.
Robinson had conflicting views on the potential departures of the pair.
“El Ghazi played a lot of games and played very well last year,” Robinson told Football Insider’s Dylan Childs.

“Wherever he goes, he’ll get a move to a top club if Villa are willing to part with him this summer.
“I’m very surprised that Villa seem to be happy to sell him because I thought he was one of their star performers last season.
“Wesley would be a departure that wouldn’t surprise me. I just don’t think he has got to the level that Villa expected from him. He has struggled with injury too.
“He hasn’t scored enough goals, so no surprises there.”
Netherland international El Ghazi netted ten Premier League goals last term, his best return since joining Aston Villa in 2018.
Wesley, who joined Villa in 2019 for £22million, suffered a serious cruciate ligament injury in January 2020.
The Brazillian has been sidelined for over 450 days and only returned to training towards the end of last season.
