Rangers finalise ‘exciting’ double deal – ‘they’re matching Celtic’
Rangers could be set to make an exciting double signing in the coming weeks as they look to add the finishing touches to their squad.
The Gers are preparing for their upcoming Scottish Premiership campaign and are looking to challenge Celtic for the title.
Last season, Rangers finished 17 points adrift of their Glasgow rivals, but under the stewardship of new manager Russell Martin, they feel that gap can be closed.
Martin’s side have agreed to sign Tottenham youngster Mikey Moore on loan, as well as Finnish winger Oliver Antman.
Aberdeen’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Pittodrie between 2000 and 2004, had lengthy spells as the chief of Everton and Aston Villa and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes these would be two smart signings for the Scottish giants.

‘Rangers are replicating Celtic’s transfer strategy’
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted that Rangers are replicating Celtic’s transfer strategy of bringing younger talent to the Scottish Premiership.
Antman is 23 years old, but Moore is just 17, and could thrive out on loan if given the necessary gametime to develop.
Wyness added that Martin has clearly decided that he wants his side to play with wingers.
He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “Moore is very well thought of and I think this would do him good to go to Scotland, and I think he could be going. It’s an exciting deal.
“Russell Martin is being attached to wingers this week. There’s another Finnish player, Antman, that they’ve been looking at. So obviously he’s decided that in attack, he wants to go down the flanks.
“Mikey Moore can play across the front line, as can this Antman. So it gives him options.
“It’s young talent wanting to prove themselves. The SPL is a great place to do that for them. And I think it’s good to see Rangers taking on what Celtic have done for many years, bringing that younger talent in and then trying to get them going. I know it’s only a loan from Spurs, but still I think it’s good.”

Rangers accept bid for defender
Meanwhile, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Birmingham City are close to agreeing the permanent signing of Rangers defender Ben Davies after having a bid accepted.
The two clubs are in advanced talks over a £750,000 transfer of the centre-back, 29.
Sources say the deal is expected to be finalised when Davies has recovered from a minor injury.
The defender, who can also play at left-back, spent last season on loan at Birmingham.
He has a Rangers contract that runs until the summer of 2026.
