Early team news: Murty confirms key striker will not play for Rangers v Hibs despite training
Graeme Murty has confirmed that striker Kenny Miller will not be available to face Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership game on Saturday.
Talking in the pre-match press conference, Murty said that while the player had returned to first-team training, Saturday’s match would come too soon for him.
He did say that he would be available for selection from next week.
GM: Ryan Jack had his operation this week. Kenny Miller took part in full training and is available from next week. Bruno Alves is improving and Graeme Dorrans is on schedule. Jordan Rossiter is in Spain with our under-20s and will play against Valencia.

In the press conference, Murty also gave an update on his other injured players.
He said that Ryan Jack had had his operation, and that Bruno Alves was “improving”.
He also said that Graeme Dorrans is on schedule and that Jordan Rossiter is in Spain with the Under-20s.
That means that Murty will probably have to rely on number one striker Alfredo Morelos for the Hibernian game.
Morelos was the subject of a late multi-million pound bid from a Chinese club and was reported to have been dropped for the midweek game with Frserburgh because of this.
However, he was pictured in training on Friday with a big smile on his face and will be available for Saturday’s game.
