'This puts an end to Kane to Man City deal' after Tottenham update today
Harry Kane will be unable to force through a move from Tottenham to Manchester City if they complete a deal for Jack Grealish.
That is the view of ex-City and England defender Danny Mills, speaking exclusively to Football Insider as the Premier League champions work on a deal for Grealish.
Football Insider revealed on 31 July Grealish will undergo a medical at Man City this week as he finalises a blockbuster transfer.
This site revealed today (3 August) Kane has told his England teammate he will do “whatever it takes” to join him in Manchester.
But Mills has insisted his former club will not sanction moves for both players.
He told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “If you’re looking at £100million for Grealish, what are you looking for Harry Kane? £130million? £140million? Then you chuck in Daniel Levy and it gets to £150million, £160million. Are Man City going to pay that?

“I actually think Grealish suits the way Pep plays a little bit more. I know he’s another midfielder that keeps the ball and dribbles, a Mahrez-type player, a Foden-type player. Pep likes them.
“You can give him the number 10 role, or maybe as a false nine then suddenly you start to think will Pep even want an out-and-out centre-forward that everyone thinks he needs. Or, will he go with six midfielders effectively. Two play high and wide, one as a holder and the other three can do what they want.
“For City to go and spend £250million on two players, that’s a lot of money. Where does financial fair play come into it? Will they have to offload some players?
“I just wonder, this puts an end to the Harry Kane to Man City deal.
“If he doesn’t go there. It’s Chelsea or nowhere. Do Man United have the ability to spend £100million on a striker?”
