Tottenham could turn their attention to signing Georginio Wijnaldum after wrapping up a deal for Vincent Janssen – and fans have taken to Twitter to have their say.
Tottenham are one of many clubs to have been linked with the Newcastle star following the clubs relegation.
Football Insider reported on Tuesday afternoon that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino is ready to set his sights on the attacking midfielder after taking care of the defensive side of the pitch with the acquisition last month of Victor Wanyama.
Wijnaldum joined Newcastle last summer from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of £14.5million but he has made it clear he wants to leave following relegation to the Championship.
Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio revealed on his website that the Magpies have placed a staggering £30million price-tag placed on the Holland international.
The 25-year-old was a shining light in a wretched Premier League campaign for the North-East club, scoring 11 goals in the competition.
The North London club have been linked with numerous high-profile players as they look to build on this seasons third place Premier League finish.
Fans have taken to Twitter to have their say on the latest link, and they are almost entirely positive. Here are a selection of their messages:
I'd be thrilled if we got Wijnaldum! A great option for rotation again. https://t.co/IA5H0loMBN
