Sources: Collins undergoing Cardiff City medical today as he finalises Luton transfer
Luton Town striker James Collins is undergoing a Cardiff City medical today, Football Insider understands.
It comes after this site revealed yesterday he had agreed a deal to join the Bluebirds.
A source has now told Football Insider the move is at its final stages.
Collins will move on a free transfer with his Hatters contract set to expire next month.
He spent four seasons at Kenilworth Road and played a key role in their rise from League Two to the Championship.
The 30-year-old scored 72 times in 183 games for Luton, including 10 goals in 42 Championship appearances this season.
Cardiff City boss Mick McCarthy handed Collins his Republic of Ireland debut in October 2019 when he scored against Bulgaria.
There was also interest from Championship rivals Middlesbrough and Coventry City but he has instead chosen to move to south Wales.
McCarthy took over at Cardiff in January and guided them to an eighth-place finish, nine points above the playoffs.
It could be the first of some big-name exits from Luton Town as influential pair Sonny Bradley and Matty Pearson may also quit the club.
The duo are also both out of contract at the end of next month.
In other news, Tottenham are set to be offered two Man United big names in part-exchange for Harry Kane.
